Science Playspace Initiative (SPI)

Summer Camp Registration 2026

Grade level refers to the grade your child is completing in the 2025-2026 school year.

You can view all the camp descriptions at a glance here (on SPI's website) before beginning registration. Be sure to review the tabs at the tops of this page for registration tips, need-based tuition support info, or to read camp policies. Registration opens this year on 3/23/26 at 5 p.m.

A parent/guardian must set up their family's Jumbula account and complete registration for children in their care and household ONLY. Do not include other children (including friends, cousins from multiple households, grandchildren not in your custody) in your Jumbula household profile.

SPI members may apply coupon code "SPImember" at checkout to get $5 off your registration. (You can not use TWO coupons at checkout so please see info in "Tuition Support 2026" tab for details)

It is not atypical for those who've been waitlisted to still get into a session! Staff will monitor enrollment closely, make adjustments and communicate with parents. We know you need info as soon as possible about your child(ren)'s enrollment status so that you can make alternate plans if necessary.

SPI Summer Camps 2026

What to expect if this is your first year registering for SPI camps

Our weeklong, half-day camp sessions occur at various outdoor partner venues in our community. These include the Brown Family Environmental Center (Gambier), Ariel-Foundation Park (Mount Vernon), Columbia Elementary (Mount Vernon), and the Knox County Airport.  Some sessions may involve field trips. Camps are led by certified k-12 teachers, assisted by our teenage STEAM Team volunteers and/or SPI staff. As each session approaches, caregivers  will get confirmation of the particular details related to the camp(s) for which their  child is registered. Families should expect that SPI campers will be outdoors for the duration of camp (with few exceptions, like robotics -focused programs). Kid with phones or tablets will be asked to leave them at home or to keep them in a backpack. For this summer season, the standard program fee is $70 for the entire week for each camp session, with tiered tuition support based on household income provided. SPI annual members will get $5 off registration with the coupon code SPImember applied at checkout. NOTE: You can not use TWO coupons at checkout so please see info in "Tuition Support 2026" tab for details.
